About Squirt
URGENT. Looking for a foster or (preferably) foster with a view to adopt.
Little Squirt needs a new place to call home.
Squirt is a chihuahua mixed with a few other bits and pieces - maybe jack russell and cavalier king charles spaniel?
This is a little guy with a big attitude who needs a family that understands his needs.
Squirt must go to a home with NO other pets and NO children. (If children visit regularly, this also is unlikely to be suitable).
We would prefer to find him a family who can foster him while they get to know his personality and then hopefully adopt him permanently if all goes well.
Squirt can sometimes be unpredictable and snappy. He came from a home where he was dearly loved, but lived with just one person and was very protective and possessive of her. Sadly he has lost the only family he has ever known and this is, understandably, traumatic for him.
A single person would be ideal for Squirt but he could also live with a couple.
In general, it seems that Squirt prefers the company of men over women so please take this into consideration. We will consider all possible homes, but will lean towards a male owner for Squirt.
Squirt enjoys going for walks and seeing the world but he is best to be walked in quiet places where he won't encounter other dogs. He's definitely not a dog-park dog.
He can be very protective of ""his"" person so you'll need to be aware of this.
For someone who is home a lot and looking for a companion all of their own, Squirt will be perfect.
If you think you have what it takes to help this little guy, please message the fb page or email avonvalley@safe.org.au asap.
Thank you!
(Please note that fostering is FREE!
If you decide to adopt Squirt permanently, the adoption fee will be $410 - he's desexed, microchipped and vaccinated).
