Its hard to believe it is less than 2 weeks since we introduced you to the gorgeousness that is Gentleman Jim.
All we had on the notes was that he was an older gentleman who had been left outside a shop with a heavy chain round his neck and his eyes weeping badly… so of course we were saving him.

From the moment we heard about him, he has had an army supporting him and in such a short space of time he has won so many hearts and become an enormous part of our family.

He arrived in worse shape than we expected but with love, prayers, incredibly welcomed donations and an amazing foster mum he has come on in leaps and bounds.
And much as we all want to wrap him up in cotton wool and keep him in our little bubble forever, we know we need to start taking tentative stops towards finding him his “happy ending” home.

We have received a number of messages in regards to adopting Gentleman Jim which is just awesome but we know you understand we must get this absolutely right.
He is well, he is happy and despite needing to gain some weight still he is healthy.
Affectionate and a real hugger he is a total sweetheart who just wants to be loved.
He does like to stand on his hind legs and cuddle when he is anxious or just feeling the love, when we say “hugger” we mean it literally.
Loves all food (his, yours, anyone at all’s) and has a penchant for scrambled eggs with his biccies. Sleeps anywhere he can .. particularly likes couches, beds, chairs, tables … will do the floor if absolutely necessary.

He currently shares his foster mum with an older male Labrador called Melman.
Melman is not overly enamoured with a gangly bag of bones insisting they be pals but Gentleman Jim is quietly persistent in his attempts to win him over.
Suffice to say the love affair is a little one sided but enough to prove that Gentleman Jim would be good with other dogs who want to hang out with him.
Cats … Hmm – Probably not so much.
The only time foster mum has heard him bark was at the vets when he saw a cat .. and it was quite a bark !
He isn’t too keen on being left alone too long and based on his history that is hardly surprising is it?

You may remember that the vet has estimated him at 5 or 6 years old.
His breed is unknown, maybe Bull Arab, Maybe Ridgeback .. looks like Scooby Doo to us so maybe some Dane.

Whatever mix he may be, lol it is beautiful, sweet and affectionate and someone is going to be incredibly lucky to take “Gentleman Jim” home.
