**Before applying please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive socialisation with other people/dogs/puppies, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Please only apply if you meet the criteria and are able to invest in the training, exercise and positive development of the pup.**

NAME: Bruce aka Smiler, he really looks like he's smiling!

ENERGY LEVEL/BREED: Typical pup at the moment, plays, eats, poops and sleeps! Down the line he will need daily walks with regular socialization with other people and dogs/puppies around him. Bruce is a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Kelpie and possibly other breeds, so we expect him to be medium sized.

PLEASE NOTE: American Staffordshire Terriers are quite high energy, playful, affectionate and intelligent but do require training as they can be headstrong. They are very social with adults and children and are extremely loyal but can suffer from separation anxiety if left for long periods. Their sociability with dogs is a facet that needs work from an early age.

PLEASE NOTE: Kelpies are high energy and highly intelligent being a working breed, so may need to be found a 'job' to make them feel fulfilled. They get bored easily if their brains are not worked, so training is a must. They are very social with adults, children and other dogs.

ASSETS: He's sweet, sensitive, cuddly, submissive, friendly, devoted, eager to please, active, obedient and a huge snuggler! He loves to be around people and will cry when left, so it's important that he gets plenty of attention.

FAVOURITE THINGS: Normal puppy things, chase, tug of war etc.. He especially loves kong toys at present.

WORKING ON: Housetraining. He's very nearly there! He won't pee inside unless he isn't let out in time. He can sit, shake, and understand 'bed' as a command. Puppy school and ongoing training are a must. He has shown some food sensitivity so will need a good quality, grain-free diet.

IDEAL HOME: Bruce is a sensitive soul, in need of a home where he is treated as part of the family and allowed to come and go inside and out as he needs. A decent sized home and yard are a must for him to live happily and blow off steam. Another young dog (under 5) would be great as a playmate and friend, dog-friendly cats are good too if the cat is dog savvy. We want him to go to an experienced family who will work with him to give him the boundaries, confidence and security that he needs; where someone is home for most, if not all, of the day on a permanent basis. Possibly with older, gentle children who will shower him with love and affection.
