About Bandit. Melbourne
At just under two years, baby-faced Bandit is full of youthful energy. He loves going for walks, and enjoys a morning and evening stroll the best. Bandit is very interested in the world, gets super excited about other dogs on the telly (he even tried sniffing a dog’s bottom once by going behind the TV).
Walk time can be incredibly exciting for Bandit and he continues to need some training with walking on the lead properly, as he can pull. Bandit has adapted to pet life very well and is a cuddly and loving boy.
Bandit currently lives with another greyhound and absolutely loves this arrangement – ideally, his forever home will have another greyhound companion. He hasn’t met any children, due the the current pandemic restrictions.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
