I am a very happy chappy and love to follow my family around the house like their shadow. I am an excellent vacuum cleaner and am very quick to snatch up food scraps as they hit the floor, so my new humans will need to be very careful that they don’t leave food around that might make me sick if I sneak it.
I am getting so much more confident when confronted with new, strange things like cars, bikes, pushers and trains. I have developed into showing my cheeky, boisterous and goofy side. I love other dogs, especially my big foster brother, who I idolise and harass all day. I am getting so much better at lead walking, I will need some more work to get me to stop pulling and to walk in a straight line (so many exciting smells and things to see), but I am still very young so I will practice this every day. I have learned to sit and leave things alone when I’m trying to chew them. I will need my new family to commit to training me so I don’t continue to be cheeky, but I learn so fast, especially when treats are involved.
I love the kitties that live here and like to follow them around and lick them if they let me (one doesn’t like me at all but I keep on trying to win her over). Their food is delicious and I try to steal it whenever I can. I also love the chickens that free range in the yard here, however because they get scared by me running up to them my foster mum says she can’t let me be adopted by a family who has chickens because they make me too silly and I forget my manners.
The main thing I am working on is remembering to toilet outdoors. I get so distracted playing and exploring that I forget to tell my humans that I need to go out. It would be great if my family had time to help me to learn this skill or maybe had a doggy door they could teach me how to use.
My new family will need to be home quite a lot. I love humans and would not cope being outside by myself for long periods of time. I would also love another fun but well mannered dog to play with but this is not vital, especially if I have regular socialisation times away from home. My foster mum thinks that young children would not be a good idea as I love them so much that I could knock them over by mistake, but older kids would be fun to romp with.
