About Cooper ~ cute 3yo Maltese x (eval. enquiries)
Introducing Super Cooper !
Cooper is a 3 year old Maltese X. He is loving and smart and such a quick learner.
Since being in care Coops has learned to use the doggy door, sit, shake and come to his name. He is fully house trained and has never had an accident inside. At bed time he runs under his foster mum's bed and makes himself comfortable….until the second the lights go out and then he jumps into bed with her. Maybe he thinks if she cant see him she wont notice?? Cooper will need to go to a home where he is allowed to sleep inside at night.
Cooper is young and full of energy. He is learning, but will jump up to greet you, jump to sit on your lap… even if uninvited and unexpected. With continued training this will improve. Coopers biggest problem at the moment is that he afraid of other dogs and shows aggression towards them. When out on walks Cooper thinks he is a world heavy weight boxer and tries to fight all the dogs he sees or even hears. We have been working with our trainers and have been giving Cooper some exercises to correct this behaviour. He has showed some improvement even in the small amount of time that he has been in care. His future adoptive parents will need to be prepared to continue this training. In the short term Cooper will need to go to a home without any other pets or small children and his owners probably should not have dreams of taking him to the dog park anytime soon.
This little 5kg boys is super loving and although he has clearly had issues with other dogs in his life before foster care, we are hopeful that with continued training he will improve around other dogs.
His ideal foster parents will be a one pet family and not have any small children. They would love hugs and company and a sneaky little foot warmer at the end of your bed at night.
Cooper is currently in care in the Newcastle area, NSW. For more information, email Kylie at sausageandmaggie@outlook.com or you can fill out the adoption form online at https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
