About Kiki
**Due to the volume of enquiries we have had we are unfortunately unable to accept new enquiries after midday on Friday 15th May.**
SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TO TRANSPORT OUR PUPS TO NEW HOMES BY PLANE.
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive socialisation with other people/dogs/puppies, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Kiki
NICKNAMES: Keeks, Sassy girl
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Owner surrender with her 4 littermates. They didn't have the best start in life and Kiki is the smallest of the litter. They are all now gaining weight and thriving in foster care.
ENERGY LEVEL/BREED: Typical pup at the moment, plays, eats, poops and sleeps! Down the line she will need daily walks with regular socialization and interaction with her owner and other people and dogs/puppies around her. Kiki and her siblings are a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier and Kelpie, with a few other breeds mixed in that we can only guess at, so we expect them to be medium sized. Please do your research on the two breeds that we know, and please don't apply if you are not able to invest in the training, exercise and positive development of the pup.
PLEASE NOTE: American Staffordshire Terriers are quite high energy, playful, affectionate and intelligent but do require training as they can be headstrong. They are very social with adults and children and are extremely loyal but can suffer from separation anxiety if left for long periods. Their sociability with dogs is a facet that needs work from an early age.
PLEASE NOTE: Kelpies are high energy and highly intelligent being a working breed, so may need to be found a 'job' to make them feel fulfilled. They get bored easily if their brains are not worked, so training is a must. They are very social with adults and children and social with other dogs. They are very loyal but if the instinct is strong they may try to herd your children..
ASSETS: She's small and cuddly, easy-going, affectionate, devoted, confident, eager to please, obedient and very very sweet!
FAVOURITE THINGS: All of the puppies are learning to play. They love playing together, and especially love kong toys at present. If Kiki is resting and the other pups annoy her she will tell them off by barking at them.
WORKING ON: Housetraining. It's starting to come together but she will need some gentle training and persistent gentle signals to remind her to go outside. She will also need lead and command training. She's a clever girl so training should be fairly straight forward. Puppy school and ongoing training is a must for her.
IDEAL HOME: All of our puppies will need homes where they are treated as part of the family and allowed to come and go inside and out as they need. A decent sized home and yard are a must for them to live happily and blow off steam. Another dog would be great, dog-friendly cats are good too if the cat is dog savvy and the pup is introduced correctly and with care to keep your cat safe. We would like her to go to a family where someone is home for most of the day, and possibly with older, gentle children.
If Kiki sounds like the ideal pup for your family, please fill out an enquiry and we will be in touch soon.
