About Coco ~ 4 yr Red Kelpie (On Trial 30/5/20)
Meet Coco, a stunning 4 year old female Kelpie who is an energetic and loving girl typical of her working dog breed. Coco has an active and inquisitive mind and she loves to run and play. She is a gorgeous looking girl with her sleek red coat. She is a happy dog (even though she does like to look serious in her photos!)
Since being in foster care, Coco has settled down and bonded very well with her foster carer. She has started to learn the basics of living in a home and sharing affection with her canine foster siblings. Coco knows sit, is learning shake hands, and is beginning to walk beautifully on a lead. Whilst her recall isn’t perfect, she has come a long way and is improving with each passing week.
Coco will be quite happy following you around from room to room, or just sitting in the sun outside checking out what the neighbors are doing. A run in the park chasing her foster siblings is the best thing ever! She knows how tennis balls work, but would rather interact with the other dogs than play ball games on her own.
Coco is learning crate training – it’s her safe place for down time. She will most often be happy to sleep in her crate, and puts herself to bed in the crate when the day is done.
We are specifically looking for an adoptive family with working breed experience for Coco as she is best suited to a family that understands the requirements of the Kelpie breed. We would like to see her adopted by a family on acreage with a properly fenced house yard (eg dog mesh or similar) so that she has room to run around . A large suburban yard may also be considered as long as her family is breed experienced and keep her mind and body active with daily outings and activities.
Coco is best suited to a home with no cats or pocket pets as they are far too interesting! She may suit a home with older teenagers who love dogs and will keep her busy and engaged with play. She would love the company of another active male pooch in her new home also. Her new family will need to continue her training, and give her consistency in learning in her new home.
To enquire about Coco please email us at rescuepooch75@gmail.com . Coco is located near Springwood (lower Blue Mountains), NSW. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Coco’s adoption fee is $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she’s been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
Coco came to us with an infected lip that was treated and has healed nicely. She has recently been desexed and is now ready for her new family.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
