Say hello to Chuckle! Which is exactly what you will spend your days doing! Chuckling! This 20kg young fella is such a funny, affectionate, sweet boy and has a huge heart to match his personality. He is house and crate trained. He is great with other dogs and kids, cats unknown, has basic training and will sit, come, wait and ask for food, and takes treats extremely gently from the hand. On a lead he is curious to sniff but will drop back if corrected. He meets others dogs very politely and will come away when told. He shows no interest when walking past a fence that has a barking dog behind it and I’d say he trots more than he walks, it’s just the cutest thing! As he is a pup still he does need to have his training continued and the time invested in him will definitely be rewarded as he desperately wants to please you and make you smile.
He loves to be close to you and will probably miss you dearly if left alone for long periods. During the week our house, like many others has to deal with home schooling and working from home and Chuckle has had to pretty much entertain himself. Which I am pleased to say for a puppy he has done fantastically! He has played with his toys nicely (though always picked the noisiest squeaky one!) and hasn’t been what I would call “needy” at all...as long as he is in the same room as you. It's been a joy to be able to glance over to see what game he is playing with himself and has cheered me up many a time.
He loves to chew his chew toys, but he is also extremely gentle with his other toys such as his teddy. He plays with my 6yo son and is really gentle. When they play with a tug rope he removes all power and takes my boy for a walk rather than tugs with him. He gets a little jumpy when excited, but again, he is a puppy and he is reacting to “who lets me get away with it”. He loves to cuddle and I have to admit, his coat is super soft and he throws so much heat out he is a dream to have snuggled on your lap, especially now that winter is rolling in!
With all this in mind I think he would make a wonderful addition to a house hold with or without children, he would enjoy having a fur brother or sister to learn from and he most definitely needs someone who is willing to invest the time in to his daily training to help him be the perfect dog for you.
