About Tina. Melbourne
Tina is a small, silky black girl with a white striped chest, and three white paw socks. She has beautiful big brown eyes that she uses to charm her way into any snacks you are eating.
Tina has LOTS of energy for walks and is ALWAYS excited to go out for a walk. She will try to convince you that she has urgent business to attend to with you when you leave the house. Currently, Tina enjoys two or three walks a day. Having said all that, she has perfected the art of napping and dozes all around the house.
Due to the current restrictions, it has been difficult for Tina to interact with a range of different people and animals. She has not yet met any small children. Tina is curious about other dogs but will require a forever human who can slowly, safely and patiently introduce her to other dogs.
While she may need some assistance with learning to love other canines, Tina is well and truly in love with the humans. She loves having human company and the best forever home for Tina is one where she will rarely be alone. Tina is incredibly affectionate and loves having a cuddle with her head on your lap.
Tina has come a long way in foster care, going from a nervous, scared girl who was unsure of the outside world, to being a keen participant in life outside the house. She has learnt to sit, wait for her food, shake hands and play dead. Tina is eager to please her human companions as well as steal their warm spots on the bed or couch.
Tina has demonstrated some protective / guarding behaviours in her home and does not like when food or toys are being taken away from her, or when she is asked to move.
Tina is not cat or small dog friendly.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
