About Umali
Large mix breed female (adult weight approx. 25-35kg), 7 weeks old. Not available for interstate adoption (NSW & ACT ok).
Umali is one of our seven orphan pups. These puppies will need very specific homes so please read their profiles carefully before applying.
Due to losing their mum when they were only a few days old, these puppies have not had the benefit of learning behaviour and socialisation etiquette from her. This means they will need very experienced families who can substitute that lack of early socialisation from their mother with many positive interactions. Given the current situation it is also harder to expose young puppies to the outside world, so any interested families must seriously consider how they are going to expose these puppies to a range of people, places and other dogs within the confines of the Covid restrictions.
Due to not having a mother influence, if these puppies are not given proper and frequent socialisation and provided with ongoing training, they may be more prone to being fearful or anti-social. It is imperative interested families are committed to a high level of socialisation and training. These will not be dogs for novice owners.
We are looking for families with another well balanced, friendly dog who can continue to teach the pup appropriate behaviour. If another dog is not present at home, only under exceptional circumstances will a family be considered, if they can meet the dog’s exposure needs. Ongoing training is a must and any interested families must be financially able to engage a trainer should the need come.
Umali is our only girl available for adoption and she is a whole lot of puppy for her tiny size! She is not to be underestimated as she likes to push the boundaries already even at this age. She demands affection and lots of it and will let you know with her big voice if you aren’t giving her what she wants. She is a strong natured girl and even though she is the smallest of the litter has no issue trying to be the boss of her siblings.
Umali will need to be an integral part of the family and included in daily activities. He will be moderately active and need a good amount of daily exercise to fulfill his needs. He should be allowed inside with the family and provided a warm, soft bed to sleep on at night.
If you think you meet all our criteria, please fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website.
NB- these puppies will not be leaving care until they are 10 weeks of age.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
