About Jacky - Adopted
Griifin is a lovely Jack Russell X dog is looking for a forever home.
He is 4 years old. He was vaccinated and desexed on 30 April 2020 and will be available for adoption from around 14 May 2020.
He is friendly, affectionate and well behaved (most of the time). He is currently in foster care with 3 other JRTs and they get along fine. He can become a little jealous of attention to the other dogs so any new owner would need to keep an eye on him while he settles into his new family. He is fed separately from the other dogs as he guards his food.
He needs continued basic obedience training and will need an owner prepared to invest time teaching him how to play and be a dog. Seems like he might have missed Dog101 lessons.
He is house trained and sleeps in his bed all night without disruption. He learned to use the doggy door very quickly and now spends his days between the garden and the house.
He became a little anxious when left alone all day and it was reported he barked when alone in his previous foster home. In his current home with people and other dogs around he is doing very well. He would suit someone who is home more often than not. In the short time he has been in care he has not shown any signs of trying to escape, digging holes or being destructive.
He is great in the car. He loves his walks, he walks well on lead (but there is room for improvement). He will pull on the lead when he sees (some) other dogs, but when he meets other dogs with proper introductions he is friendly. He is undergoing training to improve his behaviour.
He will need a home with a backyard, he is not suited to apartment life. He could live happily with other easy going dogs, given good supervision in the in early days but he could also live as an only dog.
He has not been tested with cats, so we don’t know how he would behave. He hasn’t been tested with children either but believe he would be okay.
Medical notes
Griffin was desexed on 30 April 2020 and will be ready for adoption on 12 May 2020.
