About Drover
Drover is a super sweet, loving, and smart pupstar who trains easily as he is always eager to please and food motivated.
He is approximately 8 months old and a mix of predominantly Blue Kelpie and what we believe maybe some weimeraner together with sugar and spice and all things nice. Drover has the most amazing eyes which he uses to gaze longingly into your eyes for your next command.
Drover has always lived with other dogs and loves to romp and play with his canine friends so MUST be rehomed with at least one other young medium/large sized friendly, well-adjusted, playful dog who he can follow and continue to learn from.
Whilst he is great with dogs of all sizes, he is also very human orientated, loving cuddles and attention and to sit by your side or on the couch with you. As such Drover MUST go to a home where he has access inside all of the time and not just be left in the backyard and also to a home that is not away from home for long hours.
Although Drover can be a little bit timid when meeting new people initially he quickly recovers and loves everyone he meets with a few seconds. As he is a young dog who can sometimes be a bit too exuberant in his greetings (although this is getting better) if you have children in the home older ones would be best.
Drover has been receiving lots of training and socialisation in his foster home to ensure that he is well on his way to being a good canine citizen and will need a home committed to his ongoing training using positive reinforcement methods and one preferably with previous experience of raising larger breed pups. He can still be a bit timid with new things but his curious nature soon allows him to overcome this in no time at all.
When Drover first arrived into care he was scared of the car however Drover has worked out that the car now means trips to great places including an hour or so walk on the beach of a morning with his canine buddies.
Last but certainly by no means least, Drover is an active pup so must have an active owner/s who are able to take Drover out and about for at least an hour or so each day to the beach or park. He is good on and off-leash always checking back in with you like any Kelpie mix worth his salt.
If you would like to meet Drover, please send us as much information as possible about yourself, lifestyle, family members and your dog and any other pets so that we can see if you are a good match.
