About Brandy. Melbourne
There are so many amazing things about Brandy that her foster carers couldn’t decide on just one to share. Is it her gorgeously kind eyes? Or her incredibly loving and cuddly nature? Perhaps it’s the way she puts her paw on you when you stop patting her, in order to demand more pats? We’ll let you decide…
Vivaciously full of life one minute, then out like a light the next, Brandy fluctuates between high energy and perfect impersonations of a sleeping statue. Currently, Brandy enjoys two walks a day. She will show a lot of energy and in the early morning and evening, usually signifying she is ready to head out on the town. Brandy would love a house with a backyard to help her burn off some of this excess energy. She loves to run around and play with her toys.
It is important to note that Brandy can be very stubborn. Over time, she has become less so, however this will require continued effort and hard work from both Brandy and her forever human/s. She is particularly stubborn when being asked to get off the couch or bed and when out on walks.
Brandy loves humans so much that she would do anything for a cuddle on the couch together. In fact, the humans don’t even need to be on the couch with her – just the comfortable groove of her human’s bottom is enough for her. Brandy will definitely need to go to a home where her humans are willing to sacrifice a space on the couch. She understands not to jump on the bed during the night, but does enjoy a morning snuggle.
Brandy is not bothered by other dogs, but likes to be left alone when she is having a snooze in bed. She has not been fussed by small children when passing them outside or in her building. She can be frightened by cats, but is begrudgingly learning to accept their existence.
No cat or small dog homes please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
