About Eva
Eva is a 2 year old, Standard Poodle mix who has lived her whole life on a large puppy farm and was initially very shut down around humans having had little human interaction in her 2 years.
With some love and guidance from her foster carer Eva has started to blossom and grow in confidence and whilst she still has some way to go in her rehabilitation Eva is now ready to begin the search for a second-chance home of her own.
Before you apply for Eva, we ask that you please read the following carefully as we will only consider homes for Eva that meet the following criteria:-
Another young medium sized confident and playful dog is an absolute must, no exceptions! Eva has always lived with lots of other dogs and feels most at ease with at least one or two canine companions when out and about in the world. It is also very important to help her settle into her new home that Eva have at least one other confident playful canine companion to follow and learn from as she loves to romp and play with her carer's medium-sized dogs and this is when Eva is at her happiest.
A home where Eve's new owners are home more often than not or even better a home where Eve can go to work with her new owners. Eve does not suffer separation anxiety however it is best for her continued socialisation with people for her not to be left at home for long periods.
A home committed to daily exercise and adventures, Eva is an active girl and whilst she can still be a little nervous out and about at times she does love to explore so continuing her daily exercise and adventures, meeting new people and other dogs will continue her learning and development in the coming months.
Eva is just learning all about the big wide world, she’s progressed so far but still has a way to go. It’s important her new home is committed to ongoing postive reward based training and understand that they need to go at Eva's pace, and not push her past her limits.
Eva must, of course, have access inside her days of outside living with little human contact are behind her so Eva must be part of the family pack inside the home. Additionally her new family must also understand that Eva is still quite puppyish in her mannerisms and can steal and chew things occasionally if given the opportunity, so a home that will set Eva up to succeed in this regard by not leaving things where Eva can get to them is essential and providing Eva with toys and other enrichment will also help.
Eva can still get a bit nervous about little kids and busy environments, so a quieter home would suit Eva best with no children under the age of 16.
Due to Covid19 travel restrictions a home within the Sydney Metroplitan area is required.
Eva's coat will require regular brushing and a visit to a groomer every 6-8 weeks. It’s important her home understand the costs involved in this alongside vet care.
Most importantly, Eva is looking for a home that will love her for her... not just because she’s an "oodle". As with all of our dogs she is a unique personality and we would love to find a home who will give her time to settle and continue to blossom and grow in her confidence.
If you meet the outlined criteria and feel you have the perfect home to offer Eva, please email sasrescue@gmail.com with as much information on you and the home you are able to offer Eva including details of how you meet the adootion criteria for Eva.
