About Joonie (On Trial 24 May)
Hi there, I’m Joonie! I’m a happy, smiley, oh-so-good boy who just loves life, people, toys, and roaching… oh boy, I looove roaching!!
I came to Greyhound Rescue with a bit of a limp, and the dogtors soon discovered a growth in my leg that was causing the problem. Thankfully it was benign, but they had to remove my leg – they said that otherwise it would have caused me more pain for the rest of my life, and that didn’t sound very good to me.
I’m now learning to adapt to life as a ‘tripawd’ and will need more practice before I’m a master, but I’m doing so well with it. And the good news is, it hasn’t stopped me jumping up onto the couch to have a good roach!
I’m living it up in foster care with two other greyhounds and we get along great – in fact, because I’m such an affable guy, I get along well with just about all dogs really. I love my foster mum too – she says I’m the very best boy!
A note from Joonie’s foster carer:
Personality wise: Happy-go-lucky. Smoochy boy. He can be very smart and a bit cheeky. He loves food, so don’t leave your pizzas unattended around this boy!
He can be a bit of an early riser, and will let you know if he needs to go out for a wee first thing in the morning.
House wise: Bit unsure at the moment. Minimal stairs and preferably carpeted. He’s relearning how to navigate tiles after the surgery. I will introduce stairs, hills, and longer walks to see how he’s goes.
Honestly, he’s in top 5 easiest greyhounds I have fostered. I expected the healing process to be a lot harder, but he’s been an absolute angel!

Adoption details
We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have dogs that are small dog and cat friendly.
We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
