About Ralphy
NOT CAT TOLERANT*
Meet Ralphy!-
Race Name: Woolooga
Ralphy is a 4.5 yrs old. A big boy, Ralphy weighs 40kg, his birthday is on the 3rd of October 2015 and his coat is black with small bits of white in different parts of his body.
Although he’s a big greyhound which may seem to be intimidating at first, he’s a big softie that loves his attention and cuddles.
Ralphy has been fostered for just over 5 weeks now As an only Dog. There have been no younger kids in the household during Ralphys stay but he has come to work with me at a dog grooming studio and has been very friendly with the customers that have come in.
Ralphy loves meeting new people and making new friends. He is a very social butterfly!
He is very calm and good with other dogs and enjoys making new “doggy” friends.
Ralphys favourite thing to do is to go outside and sniff everything.
When he’s inside he often carries his lead around the house when he really wants to go out.
He loves his food and picks up his bowl and carries it towards you letting you know that he’s hungry (even if he only just ate!!).
He’s very good at not being cheeky when your around but when you’re not looking he will chew on almost anything that’s plastic and especially shoes so you have to be careful of that!! He likes to call it “Plastic Quality Control!” 😂
These are just a few of his qualities:
🐾 He does not jump on people or furniture
🐾 he doesn’t whine or bark
🐾 he’s friendly with other dogs and he loves to be nosy.
🐾 He loves cuddles
🐾 He loves his neck scratches and licking your face
🐾 Loves being around people and gets very excited
🐾 Loves to go outside and on walks and also loves car trips
🐾 He also likes to follow people around so he doesn’t miss out on anything
🐾 he walks super well on the lead and walks for about 20 mins 2x per day
🐾 can be alone for up to 5-6 hours inside – but will need outside access for when alone for 8 hours.
-He is best suited to being an only dog
His favourite food is basically anything! He loves anything meaty such as beef or chicken. He’ll eat just about anything that he sees so you have to be careful! He likes to “quality control” any food for you!
He loves to snack on treats such as pigs ears, dental sticks and peanut butter.
He loves anything plastic and anything that he can chew on (especially shoes).
Something extra to remember is when you leave out the water bowl and food bowl, to put it on top of something a bit higher off of the ground such as a bucket or container. This helps him to access it a lot easier rather than him having to reach right down to the floor since he is quite big.
Ralphy needs a loving home where there’s usually someone around to keep him company. But if you are a working family, he will need inside-outside access during the day. I think he would be best suited as an only dog in a loving home, due to him being an only dog during his time in foster and as he is independent and enjoys all the human cuddles for himself.
We think he would be fine with kids of all ages – but as with any dog, parents should monitor dogs and children together.
Ralphy the big loving 40kg greyhound is looking for someone to take him into their loving home. Although he’s a gentle giant, he is the friendliest greyhound I have met with such a happy smile on his face all the time.
If you are interested in Ralphy, applications will be taken , so please contact us via facebook or pet rescue message. Provide your email address and we will send a form for you to complete.
