About Bailey
Hi, Nice to meet you!
I’m Bailey or Sir Bailey as I’m sometimes referred to by my foster parents. I am a gentle, sweet and loving 1 year old kelpie. I love nothing more than a good pat or belly rub from the humans that I trust, and adore napping near your feet. I am quite petite for a kelpie, and even though I am slow to trust people I am still a fun-loving kelpie at heart.
I absolutely love playing with other kind and friendly dogs, and even enjoy sharing bed with my foster sister. I am still a little timid about the world, but have come a very long way in foster care. I now enjoy my walks out and about, but am still learning to gain confidence in new areas. I have learnt to walk on lead, but still need some reminding to not pull as I’m very keen to sniff all of the new smells. I absolutely love playing and bouncing around with other friendly dogs, but I can still get overwhelmed at times.
I need a family that will continue to provide me with the skills to gain confidence, but also help stimulate my kelpie brain with regular structured training. Although I love nothing more than napping at your feet, being a kelpie I still need regular physical and mental exercise.
A family with prior kelpie or working dog experience would suit me well, with a confident friendly doggy pal who can show me the ropes. I enjoy spending time with the humans that I trust, so would love my family to be at home the majority of the time. I sleep well inside in my crate at night and have basic commands.
I would do well in a household with no young children and that isn’t too noisy. When given space I love to run around, and would love a little hobby farm or home away from the busy city. I’m still working on my recall, but as my confidence improves each day so does my recall. I really want to please my humans, so once I trust you, I am very easy to train.
I can’t wait to cuddle up with my forever family and become your best friend.
Lots of licks,
Sir Bailey
xx
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we may not respond to your enquiry if you do not complete the application form in full.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
***Please note - due to COVID19, Interstate adoptions have been suspended except for those between NSW and VIC, that do not cause extra unnecessary movement or socialisation of people. Meet & greets will not proceed as normal, and we have implemented protocols for hand over of dogs being adopted locally, to ensure the safety and protection of our adopters and our volunteers. We appreciate your understanding and working with us through this difficult time.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
