About Kenny. Melbourne
Kenny’s muscly bod and wild ears make him look like a cross between a kangaroo, a dingo and Dobby the house elf. He is an energetic boy and will happily walk for hours. Kenny loves having a zoom in the backyard and playing with his toys. Given the chance, he also loves to lie in the sun for his day time snoozes. He is great at cuddling and loves to nestle his snoot under the arm of his human to get extra comfortable.
While Kenny doesn’t mind being a single dog, he does love having human company. He has been sleeping well by himself at night-time. Kenny knows the rules (no couch!) and with some training is now able to stick to them.
Depending on his mood, Kenny will let you walk him and other times he’s in control. He would benefit from someone who has the strength to handle him at these times. Kenny is not sure of loud noises, which can startle him and he likes to jump in the air to try and catch passing cyclists or scooters.
Kenny is great with the kids that he has met so far.
Kenny is not cat friendly, so no cat or small dog homes please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
