About Sootie
Even though Sootie is a shy, reserved cat from first contact he welcomes a stroke or two.
When he arrived at SAFE Haven we gave Sootie a cardboard box to help him cope with his new circumstances and for the first few weeks he went into hiding, accepting strokes from inside his box. He didn't move except to welcome anyone who tickled him behind the ears. We let him adjust gradually and he now feels safe and has started to trust us. He is out of his cardboard box and likes to watch what's happening in the cattery.
Sootie has come a long way since arriving at SAFE. It turns out he is a very sweet boy who responds to a loving touch and we are confident that he is ready to spend the rest of his life in a forever home. Your home needs to be quiet so that he doesn't get overwhelmed and you will need to be prepared for a very long settling in period whilst he learns to adjust to the new circumstances. The wait will be worth it though and he will turn into a lovely companion.
