Snowy

No one has shown any interest in poor snowy. He has had a terrible start to life. He gets on really well with other dogs. He needs to go to a home which allows him inside and family that is home alot. If you are looking for a gentle dog to love snowy could be for you. I first saw snowy shivering and cowering at the pound. I have never met a more timid dog. After sitting with him for a while giving him a scratch and a cuddle he started to trust me. I took him to the vet and he was terrified and buried his head into me. It didnt take long though to respond to me positively. The vet said that he will do well with a routine and an owner that will give him the time to gain confidence. Snowy has probably had a horrible past which i will never know but i do know that snowy has lots of potential with the right owner. You will need patience but with time will gain a loyal loving dog who for the first time will know what its like to have a home and be cared for. He has a beautiful white coat like a collie and his ears are very collie like too. Snowy is currently with a very caring foster carer. Snowy update saturday,14th august. I visited snowy today at his foster carer's home and i took the photos you see on the website. In a month snowy has really improved. For one thing he looks happier and alot more loved. He has a lovely affectionate nature. Snowy is not a barker and he is very quiet. He would do great with anyone who is looking to get a mate for a dog and who is home alot. I actually saw snowy play with the foster carers dog. It was only for 30 seconds but its a great start. Unbelievably, after all he has been through he still seeks human company. His 1 negative is that he does dig holes when left alone. So if you have a tough backyard it might work well with snowy. He is still very young about 12 months old. His toilet training is still a work in progress. If you think you have the patience and love to give snowy give me a call. This is what his foster carer has to say about snowy. . . . . . "snowy is a gentle soul who has obviously had something terrible happen to him in the past and is extremely timid as a result of it. He appears to be a collie x kelpi and is probably no more than 12-18 months old. Snowy is currently in foster care and is gradually coming out of his shell with lots of pats, rubs and treats in a process that would have to be self-paced on his own terms. He will eventually blossom into a beautiful, devoted companion in a family with either older children or a calm environment where someone will be at home for a part of the day. So far, his approach to his house-mate dog has been rather timid but he may be able to live with a calm, well-socialised dog. Being of working-dog descent, snowy will eventually need regular trips to the park but some quality time with a loving, patient family will be required before he tackles the big wide world. Has been wormed, vaccinated and will be desexed upon adoption. Please give this beautiful young boy the second chance at life that he so richly deserves and every last beat of his heart will be for you. "
