About Chia ~ 2yo Russian Blue (On Trial 17/4/20)
Meet Chia, our 2 year old Russian Blue girl. Seriously, could she get any more beautiful? The camera absolutely loves her. Chia has beautiful blue-grey fur, big round eyes, and a single, tiny white spot on her chest.
Complementing her good looks is an entirely larger than life, sassy-cat personality. Not a lot is known about this gorgeous girl’s past, she was not microchipped when she arrived at the SoCares Animal facility in Charmhaven.
Once confident, friendly and full of personality, living in the pound started to wear her down. She became timid and overlooked by potential adopters. DRN brought Chia into foster care, so she could come back out of her shell in a home environment.
Chia is currently living with another female cat, Charlotte, who is also available for adoption. They aren't necessarily best friends but they tolerate each other just fine. However, Chia has a very independent spirit and would happily be an only cat. Chia’s foster carer has a small dog who Chia doesn't particularly like but she is confident in his presence. Please contact us for more information on Chia’s compatibility with other animals.
We will learn more and more about this lady’s personality as she relaxes back into a home environment. Chia will need a family with members who will respect her boundaries. No rough-handling. Chia prefers getting a pat, over being scratched. Chia has already proven to be a chatty little lady, who will let you know what she wants, and when she wants it- “Give me a pat”, “stop giving me a pat”, “pay attention to me”, “let me explore this”, “YUM FOOD!”
This cat loves her food. She will graze on dry food, but scoffs wet food. If you have other resident cats, you will need to make sure Chia only has her share. While Chia is very independent, she is certainly not aloof. She’s just a sassy lady who likes to live life on her schedule.
Chia is available for adoption to an indoor only home and her adoption fee is $180. This little lady will make someone very happy, she is a wonderful company. Please contact Chia's foster carer Bec on rebeccadrnfostercarer@gmail.com

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
