* needs a dog buddy
Hi, my name is Budd. Budd by name, buddy by nature. I am a gentle giant looking for a forever home. I am a big, beautiful boy (approx. 65kgs) who is a great companion and enjoys hanging out with family. Whether it is a walk, a play, a cuddle or just a relaxed chill, I am a loyal companion just looking for the right family to adopt me.
My ideal home would have people who are home most times and experienced with dogs, though not necessarily big dogs. I know my manners and although I am big, I am gentle. A female doggy companion would be great because I get stressed when I am left on my own.
I am easy to look after - I need little grooming. I am fit, healthy, happy and enjoy life especially with my humans. My energy level is medium i.e. I like to play but also like to relax and chill with the family. I enjoy 1 or 2 short walks every day and an occasional game of tug. I am also learning to fetch. I can already sit, drop stand and stay.
I am currently fostered with a young male British Staffy (17 kgs) and a 14-year-old female Collie (22kgs). I love the company. There are no cats or birds in my home, so I am untested with those. I do not chase wild birds that fly into my yard.
My foster mum loves dogs and has fostered a lot of dogs. She says I would do best with an experienced dog owner, who is kind, consistent and fair. I love being a good boy and being praised for it.
I am a little nervous of strange dogs when out on my walks, but my foster dad is working with me on that. He says I have beautiful manners when I am on my Halti lead. He is proud of me and how gentle I am on the lead. We really enjoy our walks together.
I love kids, although I am best with bigger kids (after all I am a big boy, and I might accidently knock a little one over). At home, I always welcome visits from friendly dogs when we are properly introduced.
I do not normally jump or dig, and I am basically a home body, however, left on my own I get lonely and, in the past, I have been known to leap a 5ft fence. For safety's sake I need secure 6 ft fencing.
My ideal home would be with an experienced dog owner, a family with older kids who have one or more female doggy playmates with medium energy levels, secure 6ft fencing, a nice comfortable bed indoors, daily interaction with my forever family, ongoing training, and walks.
