About Orchid. Rockhampton
I'm Orchid and I am as beautiful as my name, even if I do say so myself. I'm a white and blue girl and my foster parents adore me because I'm so intelligent, affectionate and snuggly. I consider it my duty to greet them as soon as their alarm goes off in the morning.
What better way to start the day than with my pretty face gazing adoringly into your eyes? I'm crazy about walking on the beach because there are so many interesting things to see and wonderful smells to smell. I can get a tiny bit over excited very occasionally but my foster parents are helping me with this. By the time you meet me, I'll be 99% perfect.
Like my greyhound brothers and sisters, we are social distancing so I haven't had a chance to meet any kids, cats or small pooches yet. I'm a sucker for a squeaky toy. Have you got one for me?
Aorchid has not been cat tested, so no applications with cats or small dogs please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
