About Arturo
Arturo is just a big old teddy bear looking for a lovely retirement home. He is the sweetest boy who is friendly with everyone he meets. He will wander over to say hi and lean up against you for a pat or scratch. Arturo is more than happy to spend his days chilling out in the yard - basking in the sun or rolling in the grass. If you are sitting down he is right there by your feet to keep you company and he also won’t say no to a tummy rub. You couldn’t find a more charming and polite older gentleman.
This old boy is great with other dogs of all sizes. He is in care with 3 other dogs at the moment who he gets along well with and he will even make some old man attempts to bounce around after the young terrier doing zoomies. Arturo would not want to live with a dog though that would be too rough or in his face as he is just too old for that business now. Arturo still likes to go for a short walk and sniff all the good smells out and about. He is good on the lead and travels fine in the car although he needs a helping hand to get into the tall ones.
The vet has said he is as fit as a fiddle for his age. He has cauliflower ears from previous hematomas that were not treated and a few lipomas (fatty tissue lumps) but none of this requires any treatment or impedes him. His sight and hearing are also still pretty good. Arturo weighed in at 29kg and is a bit overweight but he is moving around well.
We are looking for a loving retirement home for Arturo where he can be well looked after for the rest of his years. He would be best suited to a house with a yard as it seems that he enjoys to spend time outside and it would be best that there were minimal steps even though he seems be fine to do a few still. Arturo can live with or without a doggy friend but is not suited to living with cats or other pocket pets as he has shown too much interest in foster carer’s cat. He would be fine with sensible older children who know to give him his own space and not overcrowd him (keeping in mind that at some stage you would expect his hearing and sight to deteriorate). This beautiful and affectionate boy deserve lots of love in his final years and will give plenty in return.
If you are interested in offering Arturo a loving retirement home then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry Form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
