Ella. Melbourne

Ella is like a big puppy who is still getting used her new life as a ‘pet’.

She has decided that some things are pretty great about being a pet. Tummy rubs are particularly epic and she’ll take any opportunity she can for a cuddle. A soft bed is also a wonderful novelty, although she adores sleeping outside in the sun too. She can spend hours lazing about watching the world go by.

Then there are things Ella is not so sure about. Other dogs she finds overwhelming. After spending her whole life around greyhounds, she hasn’t had much socialisation around different breeds and often displays fear-based behaviours, such as barking or lunging. She’s making progress, but we think she will thrive best in a regional environment without the stress of other dogs in her neighbourhood.

At home, Ella is a total dream. Toilet-trained, a polite eater and excellent sleeper, she is easy-going and well mannered. Except when people come to the front door. This is just simply too exciting for her and so she usually jumps up to greet her guests. With a bit of training this should be easily managed.

She will need regular walks and toys to play with as she has lots of energy. But once she is tired she will be out like a light in true greyhound style. Overall, Ella is a quirky, fun and cuddly greyhound who will be sure to make you laugh.

Ella is not cat friendly and will need to be the only dog in her household.
