About Baxter ~ 5 yr Kelpie ~ On Trial 24/4/20
G’day! My name is Baxter and I’m a 5-year-old black and tan kelpie boy. I am a happy, friendly and affectionate boy who loves nothing more than hanging out with my humans!
I love spending time with my foster fur siblings and have met quite a few since being in care – some have been big like me and others REALLY small! I even got to spend time with a young puppy … they are all great and I get along with them all! I have also been around horses, goats and even a cow!
I loooooove playing with the ball and I know to drop it when it’s time for another throw. Even though I love games and play time my absolute, most favourite thing to do is to hang out with my humans – I am happy to potter around with them all day! Don’t let this fool you though – I still have lots of kelpie energy and love running around and exploring with my friends.
I know my name and come when I am called. I am house trained and sleep happily in my crate all night without any fussing. I am learning to walk nicely on a lead and enjoy going for walks. I enjoy car rides and meeting new people - everyone who meets me tells me I am a sweet and good-natured boy.
I am excited to find my forever home! I am best suited to a home with experienced Kelpie lovers who understand the mental and physical needs of my breed. I would best suit a home with plenty of space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would love a family of my own with dog savvy older kids who would play with me each day.
Because I’m so dog social I would love a doggy sibling in my new home - preferably a female of a similar age who is happy to share her humans with me. I’m looking forward to a family who will love me and include me in their daily lives.

Baxter’s adoption fee is $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he’s been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
