About Jasmine. Melbourne
Our Jasmine has a black, beautifully sleek coat and a white tummy. She is a happy girl and her ears will flip and flop around when she’s feeling excited.
Gentle Jasmine is a bit of a lounger. After her walks, she’s quite happy to spend the rest of the day hanging in bed and getting pats. She loves people, is very calm, has an inquisitive nature and loves to observe her humans from the comfort of her bed.
Jasmine has won the hearts of her foster carers in the most hilarious of ways. She is certainly full of personality – she LOVES a bit of Fleetwood Mac, and always pops into the room if her foster parents put on their songs. Jasmine is also a little bit cheeky, and knowing she’s not allowed on the couch, will simply place a paw on the cushion if she’s looking for attention.
Jasmine hasn’t quite worked out reflective surfaces and will bark at herself in windows at night-time. She valiantly attempts to protect her foster carers by putting herself between them and the dog in the window. Jasmine has been known to do the same with loud noises and will try to gently corral her carers to safety.
Jasmine has learnt her foster family’s routine quickly and sleeps through the night after her evening stroll. Occasionally, she will fret when she thinks her foster parents have left her, but she soon calms down and goes to bed with a toy.
Due to the restrictions of social distancing, Jasmine has only seen small humans from a distance and only shows an interest when they are on loud bikes or scooters. She has encountered small dogs while on the lead, she rarely tries to play and mostly just gives them a sniff.
Jasmine has not been cat tested, so please cat-free homes only.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
