About Boof. Melbourne
This cheeky, gentle boy has definitely worked out how to dog, and quickly! Boof loves playing ball, going for walks and chewing on his toys. While he does occasionally zoom around the yard. He has a well-defined, muscular build, but don’t let this fool you - he much prefers laying down his head and going for a horizontal run in his sleep instead. Boof particularly likes being showered with affection, soaking up cuddles and pats, whenever he can.
Boof is slowly working out the boundaries in his new home, sneaking onto the couch when no one is looking, and putting his front paws up to worm his way onto the human bed in the mornings. He is such a polite boy, he even provides his foster parents with a wet nosed wake up call, tail wagging, to say ‘Good morning’!
Boof enjoys his new life, cohabiting with his human. He does occasionally act like a shadow and likes to sleep near his humans, at the foot of the bed, on his own bed. Boof is well toilet trained in his current home. However, he is curious about the human toilet, particularly why water is kept in there… so closed lids will be recommended in his forever home.
Boof is still learning how to go up and down stairs and requires a little bit of encouragement. He is still learning how to ride safely in the care and may require a chest harness if travelling on the back seat.
Due to the current isolation situation, Boof still requires testing with other dogs, cats and small children. He has not been formally introduced to any other dogs at this stage, but from afar, has shown he is curious about them.
Anna has not been cat tested, so no-cat her small dog applications please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
