About Pearl
Hi, my name is Pearl and I'm a young-at-heart older lady.
Don't be fooled by my age (eight years young, thank you very much!), I'm actually quite active. I love going for a good run and chasing after sticks - even if I'm not sure what to do with them when I get them! I enjoy playing with my two foster siblings and the three of us often chase a ball together. I have also been good with cats and horses in my foster homes. I do get a little excited with chickens so good fencing is a must if you have some.
I'm a very social dog and I like making friends. I love following my foster parents around during the day so it would be great if my new foster family could take me out and about with them (I'm great in the car!).
I sit, have excellent recall and am toilet trained. I know how to use a dog door and am crate trained - I even put myself to bed at night when I get sleepy. I'm even great at the vet.
My foster mum says I am very gentle when it comes to feed time; politely sitting and waiting until I'm told it's ok to eat. I don't mind thunder - in fact a storm is a good excuse for a snooze!
I have had some problems with my skin so I may need some ongoing care in this area. I'm missing a few teeth but this doesn't give me any trouble eating.
My ideal day would involve a good walk, a play session and lots of cuddles with my family. Did I mention that I'm an excellent cuddler?! Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face and wags in my tail than seeing my favourite people so if you're into affectionate, happy dogs, I'm your girl!
If it sounds like you, please apply!
Medical notes
Prior to coming into care, Pearl had skin inflammation/allergy and ear infections that went on for a long period untreated.
As a result of the long term ear infections, the shape of Pearl's ear canal has changed, and she is more susceptible to future infections. She will need weekly ear flushing.
Due to the chronic skin inflammation and infection, she will also need a weekly medicated wash for her skin.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we may not respond to your enquiry if you do not complete the application form in full.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
***Please note - due to COVID19, Interstate adoptions have been suspended except for those between NSW and VIC, that do not cause extra unnecessary movement or socialisation of people. Meet & greets will not proceed as normal, and we have implemented protocols for hand over of dogs being adopted locally, to ensure the safety and protection of our adopters and our volunteers. We appreciate your understanding and working with us through this difficult time.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
