About Lucy. Melbourne
Sweet Lucy is a gorgeous white and black girl. Her foster carer says she looks just like a baby cow with her black spots on her white fur.
She has taken to pet life in foster care like a pro and Lucy has shared her incredibly sweet, placid personality with her foster parents. She is already responding to basic commands and goes to bed when told (this is helped by how much she just loves to snooze!) Her other favourite hobbies include lazing around and keeping up to date with all the goings on around the house.
The suburbs don’t phase Lucy and she walks well on her lead - she is not bothered by loud noises, like the vacuum, hair dryer or passing traffic. Lucy is still learning to master the stairs but is gaining confidence with this daily.
Lucy very much enjoys being around her humans. She will benefit from a forever home where her parents are able and willing to work through some potential separation anxiety issues.
Due to the current isolation situation, Lucy has not been able to socialise with a wide range of people. In her foster home, she has shown only love for her humans and has a very gentle personality.
Lucy has met some other dogs on her walks and has been initially hesitant but politely interested in them. She is more confident with bigger dogs in these situations.
Gracie has not been tested with cats so no cat or small dog homes please.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
