About Leo. Melbourne
Lovely Leo has spent his time in foster care so far sprawled out on the couch or his bed. In fact, most days he clocks up over 20 hours upside down, chasing things in his dreams. Leo is a beautiful black boy with the sweetest little face and has been soaking up all the love and affection he can possibly get.
His transition to pet life was almost immediate and his chilled-out nature has meant he’s enjoyed new experiences. Leo lies down in the car, is a polite eater and settles whether he is inside or outside. He loves going for walks, is an angel on the lead and loves meeting new canine and human friends.
Given the current state of social distancing, Leo has not had a lot of interaction with small children, but he has met some small dogs on walks and has been the perfect gentleman. He has been very patient with all the dogs he meets. When out on walks, Leo does spot cats occasionally and will whine at them (we assume in an attempt to work out what they are).
Leo has been a little bit needy some night times and is getting used to sleeping in the loungeroom by himself.
Leo has not been tested in a home with cats, so no-cat homes only please.

Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
