Sheffield is a big goofball of love and affection! He came into foster care a little on the thin side and in just 2 weeks, this guy now looks as fit as a fiddle!
He is learning his doggy manners quickly, and with the right person or family and continued training/boundaries, he will keep flourishing.
Sheffield has proven himself to be good with the resident cat and has not shown any aggression. He will bark at the cat through a window but when he is inside will not show any interest.
For a young and strong dog, Sheffield walks well on lead (usually after a minute of excitement!) He is good with other dogs we meet and even though sometimes will bark at a fellow canine across the street, he just wants to say hello! He is currently living with a bossy Miniature Schnauzer, and knows when play is no longer appreciated!
His foster family includes 3 young children (5 year old twins, 2 year old) and he has loved being their big sidekick in all their shenanigans.
He is very happy to be both inside and out. He sleeps indoors in a crate in the evenings, and usually does not make a fuss when it’s lights out.
Approximately 7 months old and weighing in at around 25kgs at the moment, it’s safe to say he will be a large dog. Secure and tall fencing will be needed for this guy as he is very agile and can jump really high!
Sheffield is looking for a home that will show him unconditional love (he is quite the cuddler!) and where he can be included and considered part of the family. One (or even two!) walks a day would be fabulous. A canine companion, although not essential, would be an absolute bonus as he loves the company of other dogs.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to keep this guy smiling and loving life, he would love to meet you!
