About Barry
Hey there potential new pawents, my name is Barry and I’m a 1 year old male desexed black and tan kelpie. I’m a happy friendly go lucky pup, a big smooch that loves to run and play! I love hanging out with my humans wherever they might be and running around with my foster brothers. I get along well with all sorts of animals, dogs, cats, horses, chickens and I even kiss the nose of my foster parents ram!!....so I may not make the best sheep dog as I’m more of a friend to all!! Haha. I do have good instincts though and with some training I may be handy on a hobby farm or the like. I also absolutely love water...dams, water troughs, rivers....anything I can get into and lie down in! It’s just the best fun and a great way to cool down after a good run around! ;)
I have a brilliant recall so my foster mum tells me....I couldn’t really get away with ignoring her though with my great big ears! I have the other basic commands nailed and can sit patiently for my dinner too! I have learnt what a couch is all about and what it is like to be included in a family and I absolutely love it!
I am most suited to a home where there is at least one other
dog to play with (I just loooove to play!) on acreage where I have the ability to run and where I will be included as a member of the family. I will need a home with an experienced owner that understands working breeds and my requirements and can continue on with my training. In return you will gain the most beautiful and loyal companion you could ever imagine!
Can’t wait to meet you
Lots of licks
Barry
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we may not respond to your enquiry if you do not complete the application form in full.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
***Please note - due to COVID19, Interstate adoptions have been suspended except for those between NSW and VIC, that do not cause extra unnecessary movement or socialisation of people. Meet & greets will not proceed as normal, and we have implemented protocols for hand over of dogs being adopted locally, to ensure the safety and protection of our adopters and our volunteers. We appreciate your understanding and working with us through this difficult time.
