About Blue
Please ensure you read his adoption criteria as only people who are suitable will be contacted. You must complete an application form at https://www.all4pawsdogrescue.com.au/dog-adoption-formexpression-of-interest.html and please be patient due to the expect volume of applications.
Learning lots of new things in foster care, Blue has nailed his house training and crate training, he enjoys his training sessions and will do almost anything for a snack. He loves his daily adventures so a family with include them in their daily life and who are home more often than not is best for this boy. He has had some mild separation anxiety which has improved but will need some continued work to make sure he feels comfortable when he is left alone. Whoever adopts Blue is going to be filled with so much joy as everyone he meets falls head over heels for the big headed baby.
BEFORE you read Blue’s adoption criteria it is extremely important that potential adopters give great thought and communicate in their adoption application as to what their home set up and routine plan is for the first few weeks/months if they are the successful adopter of this most wonderful little rescue puppy. Blue cannot be settled in over just a weekend and then left on a Monday home alone while you return to work… There needs to be a plan outlined so that his foster family can feel assured he is going to be set up for success during this crucial developmental puppy stage of life.
ADOPTION CRITERIA
Deal breakers:
– Homes with other dogs or cats.
Whilst Blue loves other dogs he would need to be monitored around toys and other dogs, he is only just learning to play with other dogs when there are toys involved and has a tendency to snatch. A home with another well mannered friendly trained dog may be possible but further discussion around this and a meet with that other dog would be required
– Non active households.
A daily adventure to keep Blue’s mind and body happy and active is important, he is currently being walked for an hour a day, has a few short training sessions throughout the day, has his meals feed to him via a Kong Wobbler (google it!!) and is attending doggy day care once a week which he loves therefor a family who get out and about is necessary or can continue his visit to doggy daycare at least once a week
– Kids under 12.
Blue loves kids but can be a little mouthy and jumpy so can be a bit much for the little ones
– Outside only dog.
He ain’t no outside dog! Blue must be allowed access inside as he pleases, this is what he is accustom too and we would like to see continued.
– Full time workers.
Blue needs a family home more often than not, he is learning that it’s okay to be alone but would likely struggle with a full time working family. A home where he could join his family at work could be a great option.
Non deal breakers:
– A family interested in taking Blue to obedience/agility classes would be fab! He loves to work for treats and what better outlet then a game revolved around food…whilst he may have missed he chance of baby puppy classes, lots of places offer senior puppy classes perfect for his age. He has also attended an agility class and loved it, even being brave enough to attempt the seesaw!
– Got Staffy experience? That’s a plus! Whilst we believe every dog is different and there are some very clear Staffy traits Blue displays so a family who have some experience with a strong driven dog is a bonus. This is certainly not a must but we encourage anyone interested in applying read up on Staffy’s and get a good idea as to whether your family is suited to such a dog.
– Preference is always given to a family home more often than not.
