Hey friends, my name is Ben and I am so glad to see you here looking at rescue dogs! I was rescued from death row in a council pound, and since coming into care I have been nothing but a pleasure to be around. I have learned new commands easily, and adore human cuddles!
I get along fantastically with all dogs, and am crate trained. I sleep in the garage at night, and let you know when I need to go outside to toilet. I hang out with the other dogs in the yard during the day while my carers are at work, and like to snuggle my dog siblings for nap time. I am used to carers who work full time. At night time, I enjoy coming in and being a part of the family. I am a really gentle, affectionate dog who only barks when someone comes to the gate.
I currently live behind a 4ft and 6ft fence and that seems to be enough to keep me happy. My favourite game is tug-a-war and chasing balls...I haven't yet mastered fetch but am practising! I enjoy playing with toys or the other dogs. I go well at the vet and in the car, and am a fairly confident, easy doggo!
My ideal home will have another dog/s for company, allow me to come inside for a couple hours a day, if not for bed time as well- and will take me to the dog park or on walks 3+ times a week for exercise and enrichment.
I am a real mix, my dad was a wolfhound x arab and my mum was an arab x pointer. I am expected to reach 40kg as an adult. I currently eat a large breed puppy biscuit and am in great health.
So what do you think... are we a match? Apply to meet me now!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
