About Mighty
Mighty is a very shy scardy cat, but who is very sweet once she comes out of her shell. She will approach you for pats if you are sitting down quietly, however, it is a 50/50 split on if she will let you pat her, or run away very fast the second that you move to pat her (moving slowly is the key!). She will also curl up against you and purr if she thinks that you have not noticed her approach, although she is not really a fan of being on your lap.
When you do pat her, she has a very odd behaviour of curling up into a ball, and putting her ears back, all whilst purring very loudly. She is also very partial to food, which might be the best way to win her heart (she is heaps more smoochy when its just before food time).
Mighty has lived with other cats before, however she is much more smoochy as an only cat. She does not like boy cats at all, but will tolerate female cats if they respect her space.
Mighty will need a patient human (or two) who has a quite house, who are happy to spend a couple of weeks slowly bringing her out of her shell. Once we are able to leave our houses again, Mighty will be quite happy if you have to go back to the office, as long as she has a comfy bed to nap in all day.
------------------------------------------------------
To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
