About Gypsy. Melbourne
There aren’t enough adjectives to describe our gentle Gypsy. She is incredibly polite and affectionate, loves getting tummy rubs and pats and will lean on you until you bend to her will. It’s okay though, she’ll say thank you with a little kiss!
At four years old, this faun supermodel has perfected her smile, her smokey eye and her signature pose, the Sphinx. Gypsy isn’t overly energetic, but does need her daily walk, so she can stretch her legs and sniff all the smells her world has to offer.
Gypsy has enjoyed living with her canine and human foster siblings, so she will fit in to a home with one or both of these. While she is relaxed and calm in her current foster home, she has not yet been tested alone.
Her foster brother has been teaching her the tricks of the trade and she is growing in confidence every single day. Noisy traffic still scares her a little bit, but with time and patience this shouldn’t be an issue.
Gypsy also loves lounging on the couch and having her human do her nails. She thinks her world is wonderful and will brighten yours up by sharing her joy with you.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
