About Iggy DL2427
Iggy is a lovable little guy who adores all people he meets!
We are on the search for the ideal home for Iggy, to ensure his next move is his last. Please only apply if you have read, understood, and meet Iggy's needs.
1. Iggy needs room to move and won't suit a small yard. He absolutely loves having the ball thrown to him and goes bat out of hell chasing it. For a small dog he is very powerful and fast. He enjoys playing tug of war, too. He loves toys and makes short work of destroying tennis balls. Keeping a supply of sturdy toys would be a smart move!
2. Iggy is a very active dog. He is a bundle of energy and could go all day. However, being a mix of brachycephalic breeds, it is important to be aware of the restrictions when exercising him (monitoring exercise levels, keeping the dog out of heat and humidity, etc).
3. Iggy will be well matched to an active owner who will keep him busy with mental stimulation and an appropriate level of physical activity. Think adventures, brain games, puzzles, and training. Iggy is not particularly food driven, but to keep him healthy, he will need a good quality diet.
4. Iggy is not an easy/first time pet, commitment to training is an absolute must. If not given the stimulation he needs, Iggy is a barker and will land you in the bad books with your neighbours. He has also been known to take himself on a self-guided tour of the neighbourhood if given the chance to sneak out, so secure doors and gates are a must!
5. Iggy loves going out for his activities and adventures, but is otherwise an indoor dog, as he wants to be with you. He does not like being left alone for long hours, he will need someone who is home often and can work on this with him. He likes to be wherever you are and loves nothing better than sitting next to you while you work, or or your lap watching tv.
6. Iggy is only suited to a home without other dogs/cats/small animals, where you can provide him one-on-one attention and focus on his training. He is a fast learner, very intelligent, and already crate trained. He is reactive towards dogs and other animals, and pulls hard on the lead, so you will need to be physically strong, and continue to work on both his socialisation and his lead training.
Note: We have been inundated with applications for Iggy, however it is important that we match Iggy to the applicant who best suits his needs. Please do not apply unless you are committed to working through Iggy's anxieties and continuing his training.
