About Dorris
Hi, I'm Dorris and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I love socializing & playing with both male and female dogs however prefer to be the only doggo at home!
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation to keep my mind busy and mischief free
• Lots of love and attention
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction
• I am very clever and active so would benefit from further training, puzzle toys doggy day care and something like agility that will tire me mentally and physically.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Very playful
• I can sit on command and have just learnt to lay down.
• I am very food motivated so additional training with food rewards would be great
• Wiggle butt
• Social butterfly
• I love the water
• I love toys
• I love fetch
• I love kids however due to my bouncy nature they must be used to exuberant doggos.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I can be destructive and vocal when bored so must have all my mental and physical needs met.
• I am mouthy and bouncy when excited and playing - training should help this.
Medical issues:
I have a fair complexion so I will require zinc in the summer months
*** Please note: It is important that my new family understand that I am a young and very active breed. Walks around the neighborhood are NOT going to tire me. A family with working breed knowledge is crucial! ***
