IMPORTANT NOTICE
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A DOG
We are very concerned about the health of our volunteers and their families.
To protect them, we require you to read the following and answer honestly before any meet and greets can be organised.
IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS
Any of these symptoms, or any family member displaying, we ask you to wait before applying for a dog -
* Coughing or sneezing
* runny or blocked nose
* shortness of breath
* high temperature or fever
* sore throat
* aches or pains
* other flu like symptoms
If you have returned from overseas or been on a cruise anywhere in the world, please do not apply within 2 weeks of your return to Australia.
If you are in self isolation, please do not apply, you need to stay at home.
Thank you for valuing our carers health, knowing that a false declaration will endanger them and any future animals that we would be unable to help.

Say hello to Fendi, the ‘mini-mastiff’. We are unsure of her breed but she has the boof head, wrinkles, jowls and dribbles of a Dogue De Bordeaux but is on small legs like a Staffy. She has the most amazing piercing green-yellow eyes and adorable little underbite. She weighs in at 22kgs.
Fendi is a sweet, quirky, stubborn and hilarious dog. She demands your affection in adorable whines and groans until you pay her attention. She is dog friendly and loves playing tug of war with her foster fur brother, her favourite game is trying to steal toys off him, so your resident dog needs to be okay with sharing. Fendi would love a male, robust medium to large playmate that enjoys a wrestle and good game of bitey face.
She doesn’t like being left alone but is currently quite content with doggy company while her carer is out of the home.
Fendi is crate trained, will sit (and drool) for food, she waits for her meals and is highly food motivated. Her naughty habits are jumping up on her humans and she can be wary of strangers, therefore she is looking for a home with no children as they can be a little unpredictable. A home without cats is best as she hasn’t met many and is very exuberant.
🚫 Please do not apply if you do not have another medium/large male dog and are away 2+ hours per day (post isolation).
🚫 Please do not apply if you live in an apartment as she is very young and active and can get creative if left alone without company.
🚫 Please do not apply if you own cats.
Anyone interested in adopting Fendi needs to be aware that her front legs are a little wonky. The left one in particular has a deformity that has been checked by multiple vets and causes her no discomfort at this time. She is in fact very quick on her feet and she goes toe-to-toe with the agile resident dog (see video). She may get arthritis in the leg earlier in life and joint supplements are encouraged. Vet notes will be provided.
