About Bonnie
ONLY APPLICANTS WITH ANOTHER FRIENDLY DOG WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Let us introduce beautiful Bonnie!
Bonnie is a cute, cheeky young pup who is looking for her forever home. She is currently living with her foster family happily but she’s ready to find her special humans.
This little lady has lots and lots of charm points, but the best thing about her is her intelligence. Bonnie is extremely smart and enjoys training. She already knows basic commands like “sit”, “drop”, “shake”, “stay” and “wait”. She can also spin, play dead(“Bang!!”), weave, and jump through a hoola-hoop. She loves food and does everything for it, so it would be no problem teaching her new tricks using some yummy treats. If you are interested in doing agility training or similar, she will be the best partner for you.
Bonnie is house and crate-trained. She sleeps in her crate quietly through the night and doesn’t make any noise until you get up. She can happily spend time outside during the day but wants to come inside at night so that she can be close to you and spend time with family.
At Bonnie’s foster family’s place, there are 2 other dogs, a cat, some pocket pets and birds. Bonnie loves her fur foster brother and sister and plays with them beautifully. She is not sure about new dogs coming right up to her face and feels a little anxious. She needs to be introduced to them slowly and properly. Due to her dominant personality, her four-legged companion(s) must be friendly, submissive and very patient. She loves wrestling, zoomies and tug-of-war with her foster sister and brother. She will need another friendly dog in her forever home.
Bonnie is a very sensitive pup and gets scared easily with new people. It takes time to earn Bonnie's trust but once you earn it, she is the most loyal companion ever! Bonnie requires a firm, patient, strong leader to guide her. She is already a well-behaved dog, but needs clear instructions and boundaries. She will be lost without her leader.
We are not recommending young children for her but teenagers or older who understand her timid nature and respect her space, will be perfect. She also needs a safe quiet spot (crate etc.) where she can hide to start with when you have visitors, but she will open up if you introduce new people little by little to her.
Bonnie loves her food, really really loves it, and loves her home cooked meals, however this is due to her touchy belly. She will eat almost anything but a change to new dry dog food requires extra caution and the process has to be very very slow. She loves the super easy home cooked meals that her foster family make for all of the doggies, but a touch of probiotics helps settle the tummy when upset. Bonnie’s foster family are more than happy to help you out with hints and tips for her tummy.
Bonnie is not the type of dog who is lazing around and waiting for you in the yard all day until you come home from work. She needs someone who stays home most of time and gives her jobs. Alternatively she can have her doggie friends to play with while you are out. Otherwise she gets bored easily and starts to look for something entertaining (like your shoes and thongs). Being such a smart and active dog, she needs both mental and physical stimulation.
Bonnie enjoys walks and is currently going for walks twice a day. She is not a puller and walks on lead very gently. She is the best running buddy for her foster dad. Bonnie loves driving around in a car too.
Bonnie is not a jumper or digger. Her current home has 5-6ft fences and she has never tried to escape. However she can wiggle through gaps if she wants to, so good fencing with no gaps is a must. Once Bonnie is settled, feels safe and comfortable, she would never attempt to leave her loving family.
Do you think Bonnie is the dog you are waiting for? If so please come and meet her. She may be shy when you first meet her, but I’m sure she will show you how lovely she can be.
Medical notes
Bonnie has a sensitive stomach which means care will need to be taken with what she is fed. We have determined that a dog-friendly probiotic is also helpful.
