About Annie
Annie is a 5 year old Cavoodle(Cavalier King Spaniel Cross Poodle). She has come into care as her elderly owner has gone into aged care.
This girl is happy, happy, happy!!!!! She loves everyone and expects a cuddle from everyone she meets. She is "dog social" and eager to make new doggie friends at the park. She will be suitable as either an only dog or as a second dog.
Annie is toilet trained, well behaved inside, travels well in the car,is good to groom and good at the Vets. This girl is a pleasure to have in the home and is the sort of dog that you can take anywhere without fuss. She will be up for any outing or adventure.
Annie is super affectionate and likes to be close to her humans and will make for an excellent close companion pet. She is also playful and enjoys games and toys.
Annie's coat does shed a little so will NOT be suitable for people with allergies. She is currently clipped very short and no shedding has been noticed at this length. She will need to be clipped at the grooming salon approximately 6 times per year.
Annie currently weights 10.5kg but is overweight(has not been taken for a walk for a long time). The Vet has recommend that her weight get down to around 8.5-9.5kg. With good food and regular walking she should be looking great very soon. She loves her walks so exercising her is easy.
Annie was still available for adoption on 15th March 2020. If you can offer her an excellent home, please answer the following questions via email:
Number of people who live in the home?
The ages of people who live in the home?
Do all adults work full time?
How many hours per day would the dog be left alone?
Do you own the home or renting?
Will the dog live outside or inside the home?
If inside, will he have full access to the house or only allowed in certain rooms?
Where will the dog sleep at night?
How often will the dog be taken for a walk?
How long are the walks ie 15minutes,30minutes,1 hour?
Are there any outings or activities the dog will be included in other than walks?
Are there any other dogs currently in the house? If yes, what breed?
If not, when did you last own a dog and what breed was it?
How regularly will the dog be clipped?
What food do you like to feed your dog?
Do you give your dog any sort of monthly treatment to keep it free from fleas, worms etc?
Feel free to describe the sort of life a dog can expect to live in your family.
Medical notes
Annie has had a health check at the vet and other than needing to loose a kg she is in very good health. The Vet has checked her heart, ears, teeth, eyes etc and everything is in good condition and not needing any treatment or medications.
Adoption details
Adoption Process
1. Complete the Application Form and email to re.grant@yahoo.com.au
2. Completed Application Forms will be reviewed. A shortlist of preferred applicants are chosen consisting of around 3-4 applicants who best match the dogs needs. Only those shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further information. It is not unusual for me to receive 100 applications for any one dog(especially if it’s young and healthy) so contacting everyone is just not viable.
3. Those shortlisted applicants will then be contacted no later than two weeks from the date of application. If you have not been contacted by the two week mark, then assume that you have not been shortlisted.
4. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to provide a Vet and Grooming reference. This means that with the applicants permission, I will contact their Vet and Groomer to see how well they have looked after any current or past dogs.
5. I then conduct viewings with the few applicants that have excellent references to see if they like the dog and visa versa. This usually involves around 1-3 potential families.
6. Once a preferred applicant is chosen, I then conduct a fence check at their home to ensure it’s secure.
7. If both parties are comfortable to proceed, then adoption takes place. The adoption fee is paid, an adoption agreement is signed and a two week trial begins. Adoptive parents can return the dog within the two week trial period and receive a full refund if things don’t work out.
Thank you for your interest in adoption and for your time to make application.
