About Rockford
Rockford is a smart, goofy, wriggly and energetic boy who loves to play with his foster siblings and hang out with his foster parents - the closer, the better!.
Currently living with 2 small dogs, one is 13 years and the other is 17 months. Playing chasing and wrestling with 17 month old shih tzu cross, is one of Rockford's favourite things to do. His other favourite thing to do is to go for walks. Short walks, long walks, early, late, sunshine or rainy walks, he'll take them whenever he can get them.
Naturally handler-focused and very praise/attention driven, walking Rockford is a breeze. He doesn't pull or get too distracted. He will grow into a large, strong boy so it's important that leash work and basic obedience continues in his furever home. Training on "sit" and "come" is going very well as is toilet training with further work needed by his family on "stay" and "drop". Bedtime is sometimes challenging but gets better and better and we have the most success with him settling himself after a walk and with the light left on, in an adjoining room.
Rockford would be best suited to a home with an active family, ideally including a doggy sibling to keep him company, where he can be included in family activities day to day and will be allowed inside. Attentive and smart, this handsome boy may make a great running partner or even agility dog.
As with all pupsters, he will need a family committed to his ongoing training, socialisation, health and happiness. He is not suited to being left alone all day, so will need a home with another playful dog at home or someone home most days.
If you feel you can offer this sweet boy a loving home, please head over to our Fetching Dogs website and fill in an application form.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
