About Maggie
Hi, I’m Maggie and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both male and female dogs. I can get a bit exitable with other dogs and may nip at their heels to try and get them to play with me.
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard for long periods of time
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Very playful
• I can sit& shake hands
• Wiggle butt
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I can be a little bit strong on the lead – training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
Medical issues:
I have a hooded vulva which means that when I urinate some urine gets onto me. I can live very happily with this condition however I may be prone to urinary tract infections or I may not get any at all. If I do get repeated infections then surgery may be required to fix my vulva.
ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET MAGGIE BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
