About Chester ๐
Introducing our ever so handsome 12mth old Kelpie....Chester ๐
Chester arrived in care from Grafton Pound back in early February. He was a very nervous young man and lacked confidence around people and other dogs. Luckily for him, he scored a place in care with one of our wonderful carers who owns and runs Happy Hounds Farmstay - Dog Boarding/Daycare, which has helped so much with his interactions around other dogs.
Whoever is lucky enough to welcome this gorgeous boy into their home, will need to have experience with nervous dogs, patience and experience with training. Chester is shy around strangers, but once he gets to know you, he really is the sweetest smoocher who loves a cuddle.
Although Chester adores his furry friends at Happy Hounds, he takes time to warm up to dogs he doesn't know and not a fan of them jumping all over him. His confidence is building, but this will need to be continued in his new home. He is now starting to wrestle with a few of the Daycare dogs, one being a boisterous Lab..... and once he feels comfortable around them, they become great mates. Chester is also getting along great with one of the host dogs in his foster home, a 5kg female Foxie, so size really doesn't matter to him.
During his time in care, Chester has been living both inside and out as part of the family. He is crate trained, toilet trained, sits, drops and now responding to recall. Being the nervous boy he is, Chester is unsure around young children, so we are looking for a calm home with older children 12yrs+. He is slowly coming out of his shell with more positive experiences. We are unsure how he would cope on his own as he's constantly surrounded by both people and other dogs in his foster home.
If you feel you can offer Chester a safe, stable home where he will continue to thrive, we would love to hear from you! He's now had all his vet work done and although he's probably a little nervous about meeting his new family, he trusts his foster mum and knows that he will only be going to the very best of homes ๐ก
Chester is located in John's River (30 mins South of Port Macquarie) in NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
