About Monty
Montgomery is a very special boy who’s on the search for a special forever family. Nine months ago, Monty was found abandoned in bushland, his little body in a horrific state of neglect. The kind soul who found him took him straight to an emergency vet where he met his saviour, who personally paid for his surgeries and nurtured him through his rehabilitation. All of his teeth had to be removed (though this doesn’t slow him down—he loves his food and wolfs it down with gusto). His ears were in such a bad state that both ear canals were removed, leaving only the drums, meaning he can only hear vibrations (he’s now doing great with learning some sign language!). His spleen was found to have a tumour so that was also removed, and his claws were so long they’d curled up into his paws. The vets aren’t even sure how old he is—they estimate somewhere between 6-10 years.
During his recovery, Montgomery has been a sweetheart and his personality is now coming to the fore. He loves walking on soft green grass (he appeared to be unfamiliar with grass), and he loves adventures and car rides. His own special angel already has two dogs, so she put all her love (and a wad of money) into Monty’s recovery, knowing that he would one day leave her and find a family of his own. She feels that he’s now ready for that step, and so we’re looking for a very special home.
We’re hoping his new family will shower him with love and be able to help him experience all life has to offer in his golden years. This little boy deserves it! He's in foster care with cats (in fact, he'd prefer a cat sibling to a dog). He loves little walks and drives in the car, and he especially loves taking a nap at your feet. Montgomery has some separation anxiety (likely due to his traumatic past), so would love to be someone’s adoring shadow. Do you think you have space in your heart for Monty? If you’d like to know more, get in touch!
Medical notes
Monty has had all his teeth removed, as well as his ear canals (he still has his ear drums and so can hear vibrations).
