About Rex
Hi, Rescue People! What a funny little fellow we have to introduce to you. Meet Rex - he was surely named after Tyrannosaurus Rex as this little boy has ALOT of spunk. A chihuahua mix who thinks he's a rhodesian ridgeback. He has cute stumpy little T-Rex legs and a gorgeous dark tan ridgeback stripe down his back. Rex has ""small man syndrome"" - he likes to growl and bark at anyone and anything he is unfamiliar with.
This little guy does not trust easily so will need an especially loving, kind, gentle and very patient new family. Once Rex learns to trust you and that trust and respect MUST be earned first - he is a real sookie bub. He loves to be close to his favourite humans and follows them everywhere. He's tiny - your heart will immediately melt to meet him in real life. There is something adorable about the tiniest things having the courage of a lion and a heart as big as a dinosaur's.
Rex has found himself homeless so this has led him to be a bit wary and a tad worried about his future. He's okay with other animals and really good with children. This photographer/profiler wanted to stuff him in her handbag and run away with him. Rex is just simply looking for unconditional love. He's quite smart so you would be able to train him with positive reinforcement (and food!) easily.
He is working on his house training and is very affectionate and cuddly. People may assume that because he's small he doesn't need training but these small breeds get away with murder unless they are given some boundaries - just like children, pets love to know what's coming next and thrive on routine and consistency. It's how you get a well behaved, well balanced, happy, and good dog.
Rex doesn't shake like some chihuahua breeds do and he has a very proud way of standing - tall and macho. ""Looking good never looked so good"" (Puss in Boots, 2011). He has a really cute way of sitting by your side on the couch (really close) and rolling over to show you his belly and then rolling back over and putting his tiny paws over his nose. Butter wouldn't melt - this is the sweetest/toughest little fella we've ever met.
If you think you'd like T-Rex to be a part of your life, don't hesitate, it's fate - get the specs on this adorable Rex.
I would prefer to be adopted locally as I am not great at travelling .
