Hey everyone! My name is Perry. I was rescued from death row in a council pound. I'm lucky to be here and grateful for my foster parents and Off The Chain for saving me! Nobody knows why I was abandoned, but I had no vet work done at all and was a bit thin, so I don't think they really miss me anyway. Thankfully now, I'm never looking back!
I currently live with adult humans and children, a cat, and 2 other dogs. I love to play with other dogs so would prefer to either have another dog at home, or go to parks to play with friends! I am amazing with the cat and kids too. An all round lover.
I spend about 6hrs a day at home with the other dog while my humans are out, and I just hang out in the yard. I'd suit a normal family who works part or full time, as long as I am allowed to be a part of the family when you are home. At night I sleep inside in a crate. My leash skills are coming along nicely and I really love my adventures at the park, I make sure I find all the good sticks! I am a little scared of the vacuum and prefer to leave the room, but that seems to be my only fear. I am beautifully behaved at the vet and travel well, though if you feed me too close to departure I may get sick in the car.
I currently live behind a 6ft fence and my ideal home has another dog for me to play with, and will promise to take me out 4 times a week for off-leash runs and walks too. I have medium energy levels and while I love my play time, I am also a pretty big Netflix and chill type. I'm definitely a lap doggo who'd love to hang with you and be part of the family.
So what do you think? Could I be the one for you? Apply to meet me now, cuties like me don't last long!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
