About Buddy
We have been entrusted to find dear Buddy a home as his owner has moved into a retirement home.
Don't just fall in love with his photo (we know, he is cute!). Please read all of the information below before applying. He is a dog with very particular requirements.
Buddy tolerates the company of other calm dogs. However, his preference is for human company and we think he is best suited as an only dog.
Buddy has very high separation anxiety which manifests itself as incessant barking.
With a lot of time and effort, this may be able to be corrected. However given his age and history, any potential adopter must accept this may always be the case with him.
He attaches strongly to an individual in the household and gets stressed if they are not in sight. He can be possessive which is displayed as a growl when approached when he is with his chosen person. This does not always occur, but has been observed.
He will suit a home with someone who is always home or can take him with them.
Buddy walks well on a lead, is not boisterous and is housetrained. He is very sprightly for his age and has great teeth. He weighs 10kg.
He will need regular grooming to avoid getting matted.
The first 2 photos are current. The others show him clipped and in full teddy bear mode!
Any future owner must factor in the time and cost of maintaining his coat.
We are seeking an adult household that is experienced with anxious dogs.
He is in care in western Sydney.
